Hello, my name is Alexandra Goia and I am a fully qualified piano teacher.
Born in a family of musicians, I started playing the piano at the age of 4 and haven’t stopped since! I am very proud of my parents’ legacy and I try to honour it every day. In the apartment I grew up we had two pianos, an upright and a Steinway baby grand.
I attended the best music schools in my hometown (Bucharest, Romania) and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and a Master’s in Musicology.
For 7 years I worked as a broadcast journalist at the Romanian Cultural Radio and made hundreds of interviews and shows with the Romanian musicians’ elite.
In 2014 I came to London and joined the teaching and administrative team of DEA Music Academy with the help of the concert violonist Alda Dizdari. Ever since I’ve been teaching full time in London, Milton Keynes and, currently, in Leamington Spa, Coventry and Stratford upon Avon.
I am fully DBS/CRB checked both in UK and overseas.
I specialise in teaching children between the ages of 5-17. My teaching style is consistent, creative and pro-result. With 100% passing rate on the ABRSM exams, I tailor my technique to match the student’s needs it order to help him obtain the very best results. My lessons are interactive, enjoyable and packed with essential musical information.
For me it is very important to provide continuity in children’s education, regardless of their location or social context. During the 2020 pandemic I perfected my online lesson technique and obtained excellent results in the newly introduced Performance Remotely Assessed ABRSM Exams.
In 2018 I created the “Mango Piano Method”, a comprehensive step-by-step course designed to help students reach ABRSM Grade 1 Level in just a few months. Targeted for the 7-14 yrs old student, the method is the ideal course for gifted young beginners wishing to learn at a faster pace.
